I paint to remember something vast— a pulse that moves through everything.

My work drifts between worlds, forming dreamscapes where the boundaries between body, spirit, and cosmos dissolve. Here, all things are connected -breathing within the same field of consciousness. I search for that space where feeling becomes image, and image becomes something almost remembered.

Figures emerge – often in shades of blue.
They are witnesses, travelers, fragments of awareness moving through time, echoing ancient myth and future memory at once. They do not tell stories directly, but carry them – quietly – waiting to be sensed.

Each painting begins in uncertainty.
Layers build, dissolve, and reappear. A form reveals itself – a face, a gesture, a presence – and I follow. The process is intuitive, almost devotional, guided by trust in what wants to surface.

Paint thickens, drips, expands – until the work becomes something more than an image.
A place for the soul.
A state of mind.
An opening.

Artist Statement

Hello! I am Ida Alba. Welcome to my world of art. My practice is driven by a longing to connect with a universal consciousness – and to translate its vast, electric presence into something that can be felt, shared, and recognized by others who seek the same resonance. Through my work, I create dreamscapes that reach toward an awareness of our profound interconnectedness – within the cosmos, and here on Earth.

My paintings strive to evoke the inherent beauty of all living things, as expressions of a collective mind, body, and spirit. I want to invite the viewer into a space of dreaming – into other realms – where something deeply felt can awaken. The imagery moves fluidly between abstraction and figuration, leaving space for the viewer’s own imagination to complete the narrative.

A recurring presence within my work is that of enigmatic blue beings. These figures embody an expanded awareness of the human experience – existing across time, memory, and multiple planes of being. They carry echoes of ancient mythologies and histories, drawing subtle parallels to traditions such as Indian depictions of blue deities and Egyptian visual symbolism. Each painting holds within it a quiet narrative – an unfolding anecdote that deepens the encounter.

Artist Bio

Ida Alba’s multidisciplinary practice operates across sculpture, painting, digital art, illustration, and motion graphics, reflecting a sustained interest in expanded visual storytelling and cross-disciplinary methods.

With formal training in Fine Arts and Interior Architecture, and studies undertaken in several European cities, the work is informed by a broad cultural and spatial awareness. A professional background in design further contributes to a structured yet exploratory approach to image-making.

Recurring references to mythology, spirituality, and embodied practices such as yoga, meditation, and dance inform both process and conceptual framework. These elements function not as illustration, but as underlying systems that shape rhythm, composition, and meaning.

The Process

My process is intuitive, guided by a desire to access the otherworldly. I build my paintings through layers – allowing forms, light, and fragments of figures to gradually emerge. A face, a gesture, a presence reveals itself, and from that moment, the work begins to speak. I follow this vision, trusting it to shape the evolving narrative – the soul of the painting.

Through successive layers of brushstrokes, drips, textures, and color – sometimes so dense that the surface becomes almost sculptural – the work slowly arrives at its final expression.
